I recently had the pleasure of staying at Umeoka Ryokan for a full week, and I can confidently say it exceeded all my high expectations. The traditional large room featured incredibly comfortable tatami mats and was impeccably clean, providing a serene atmosphere that made us feel at home from the moment we arrived. The shared bathing area, with its delightful hot water tub, was an oasis of relaxation, and the staff's generous hospitality-offering fresh sliced apples as a welcome gift-was a charming touch that truly enhanced our experience. I was pleasantly surprised by the thoughtful inclusion of a special Japanese New Year breakfast on January 1st, showcasing the culinary talents of the inn's chef. The early check-in and the flexibility of an 11 am checkout further added to our convenience, making it easy to explore the beautiful Nagano surroundings. Umeoka Ryokan provided an extraordinary experience that I highly recommend to anyone seeking a blend of tradition and hospitality.
